How to Make Your Own Pumpkin Spice Latte – Hygge in a Mug
A pumpkin spice latte is more than just a trend – it's autumn in its warmest form. 🍂
Cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves come together in a scent that speaks of cosiness and fresh pumpkin.
With our simple pumpkin spice mix and a good strong espresso, you can make yourself a proper latte at home – naturally Nordic, and full of hygge.
(We like to use the espresso from Morgenheld – smooth, rounded, and a lovely match for the autumn spices.)
🧂 Homemade Pumpkin Spice Mix
Ingredients for 1 small jar (about 50 g):
-
3 tbsp cinnamon (Ceylon, ground)
-
2 tsp nutmeg (freshly grated with the kjøk nutmeg grinder)
-
2 tsp ginger (ground)
-
1 tsp cloves (freshly ground with the kjøk chilli grinder)
-
1 tsp allspice (also great in the kjøk chilli grinder)
Method:
Mix all the ingredients together well and store in an airtight jar.
And that's your natural pumpkin spice mix ready – ideal for coffee, cakes or hot milk.
💡 Tip: Grind the nutmeg, cloves and allspice fresh, straight in your kjøk grinders –
the flavour is noticeably more intense than ready-ground spices, and it gives you that genuine hygge taste.
